2024 Texas Primary: Democrats Unified, Republicans in Chaos

AUSTIN, Texas – The 2024 Texas election stage is now set, and the differences between two very different visions for our state are made clear: With November 5th on the horizon, Texas Democrats remain united while Republican chaos intensifies.

Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:

“Super Tuesday’s results have laid bare the two distinct choices voters have this November. From the Gulf Coast to North Texas, and from Central Texas to San Antonio and South Texas, Texas Democrats showed excitement and enthusiasm in our battleground turf, which will set the trajectory for the future of our state. Our Party nominated a diverse slate of candidates to champion democracy, public education, reproductive healthcare, and working families. Meanwhile, MAGA extremists have completely usurped the Republican Party of Texas – accelerating the devolution of their party and bringing the rest of our state down with them.

“The Republican Party of Texas is lost, and the MAGA wing of their broken coalition is hell-bent on turning our state into a dystopian society where authoritarianism reigns. It’s clear that Texas is at the center of the 2024 General Election. Texas Democrats know this, and plan to engage eligible voters on the issues that actually impact Texans – not baseless culture wars and power grabs. As November 5th approaches, we stand prepared to meet the moment, pound the pavement, and make the case to voters that Democrats have solutions to the problems facing Texans.”
